What an incredible week God has given us! We began with watching a religious procession and some of our team climbing Volcán Pacuare. On Monday and Tuesday we held children’s clinic in San Pedro Yepocapa and saw 412 children. We measured their growth since last year, examined for skin infections, listened to hearts and lungs, gave them toothbrushes and toothpastes, taught them dental hygiene, painted fluoride varnish on their teeth, and gave each child small gifts. On Wednesday our team installed 16 stoves that we donated. Plus thanks to St. John Lutheran Church in Bartlett TX, and Church of the Nativity Emmaus group in Hollywood, FL, plus some individual donors we donated 12 additional stoves. On Thursday we visited the women’s co op in Santiago Zamora where team members Mary Doan and Tony Morales donated water filters to all ten families in the co op. The ladies were so happy to anticipate drinking clean water at last. Then we gave a clinic to examine the ladies and give them medicine for their blood pressure and diabetes and other conditions. On Friday this amazing team took some time for fun with volcano hiking, zip lining, rock climbing, and ATV riding, as well as stimulating the economy especially at the jade store. I am so grateful to God for always providing me with fabulous teams. I am also very grateful for our donors who make all this work possible. Muchas gracias de mi corazón. Me encanta, Guatemala.
