Earthquake Relief
When the small town of Santa Maria de Jesus was trapped by fallen debris from the mountain after an earthquake, the residents had no access to food or wa.ter. NCP donors sent donations of money, which we sent to a group of nuns in Guatemala. They purchased food and water. The nuns took the food in by horseback and cooked for the residents. The cases of water were brought in by helicopter. Our donors are truly God-sent.
Stoves, Stoves, and More Stoves!
While one of our teams raised enough money to donate 30 stoves, we were concerned to learn there are many families on the waiting list to receive stoves. Our goal was to raise enough money for 100 families. Our amazing donors have provided new woodstoves for 104 families in Palo Blanco and El Aguacate.
We have a generous and loving anonymous donor who funded 50 of these stoves. We are so grateful to have such warriors of care on our team. These families will now have a safer and more healthy way to cook and feed their families.
This is always an ongoing project as we try to install at least 15-20 stoves per trip. So 100% of all stove donations go to provide stoves for families.
There are presently 75 more families awaiting stoves. Please consider donating $170 for a stove.
Also we are trying to donate more water filters to families. They are $50 each. For several years we have been providing water filters to the families in San Andrés Ceballos.. We donate new inserts for the filters every two year. . We no longer have to give de-worming medication to the children there since they are drinking pure water. God is good.

Collaborating with Hombres y Mujeres en Acción
We collaborate with our dedicated partners Hombres y Mujeres en Acción, a wonderful Non Governmental Organization in Guatemala to build a new middle school classroom at their school. We have reached our funding goal and the classroom is built and wired and ready for students! We are so grateful for the collaboration with Amilcar Vielman in providing stoves, water filters, and other projects for their communities.
Raising Money for a Much Needed Surgery
Our dear friend Filomena, an expert weaver in Santiago de Zamora needs surgery. In February our team noticed this large growth on her left cheek. We gave her the money to see a physician, who has diagnosed it as a lipoma. We are so grateful it is not malignant. So while we were back in May, we found that she had not had surgical removal because she could not afford it. It is painful, especially at night when the throbbing keeps her awake. We were able to raise enough money to pay for this dear lady's surgery. Thank you to all our donors.
Nurse Community Partnership: Empowering Communities
For the past three years, we were presented with the amazing opportunity of supporting young women from San Andrés Ceballos in their quest to begin nursing careers. Our teams donated the tuition, books, and uniforms for them to attend the auxiliary nursing program.
They have graduated and worked alongside our team in our clinics. We are so proud of them and grateful for our collaboration with Nueva Generación. This is part of our goal of capacity building and we plan to do more of this important work.
We are now supporting our third nursing student from San Andrés Ceballos! The cost is $1000 for the curriculum, books, and uniforms for one year.

- Visiting women's co-ops
- Participating in healing services with a Maya shaman
- Ziplining
- Making homemade tortillas
- Participating in local holidays and celebrations
- And, of course, shopping and stimulating the economy

All of our trips for 2024, 2005, and 2026 were filled. However, we are still accepting participants for 2027. You do not have to be a health care professional. Everyone has a talent to give. We are so blessed to have wonderful volunteers who want to participate in this amazing work. I keep a list of those who wish to go in the future, so let me know of your interest.
